A Message To Our Community and an Easy Sanitizer Recipe

Sanitizer Recipe

Dear Mayur Naturals Community,

I wanted you to know that you are all on my mind during this difficult time.

A new disease and health concerns are difficult enough to deal with, but we don't often think of all the other things in our life that it affects. Many of us, including myself suffer from various health issues like auto-immune. Added to that the stress of my 401K plummeting, friends not being able to work, markets and events being cancelled and the country in general in chaos is stressful. So I thought I would share a few tips to help us get through these difficult times. I am trying to practice it myself and I hope this helps you in a small way.

Social Isolation - Many on my Facebook feed are practicing social isolation, but maybe we need to take a break from Social Media as well. We know what we have to do to protect ourselves, do I really need the second to second update on everything that's happening? It just adds to my stress.

Turn Off the TV - Same as above. We don't need to add the stress with minute to minute updates. Play a game of Scrabble or Monopoly with the family instead. It's a great time to re-connect!

De-stress - Breathe. Stress is not good for the body. It decreases the immune system. Slow down your breathing. Here's an exercise that just takes seconds: Join your hands in a prayer position, close your eyes, breathe in for 4 counts and breathe out slowly for 4 counts. Slow your mind if you can and this will also calm down your body. There's something about joining the hands that closes the circuitry - just something I read a long time ago - and it just seems to work. Try it.

- Make your own hand sanitizer. Reports suggest stores are selling out of hand sanitizers. You can make your own emergency spray.

DIY Simple Sanitizer Recipe (updated per CDC Guidelines)

What you need:

A pump bottle (I use a 2oz bottle)

70% Rubbing Alcohol or Everclear

Aloe Vera Gel

4 Drops of Essential Oil (Optional)

Instructions:

I use a 2 oz bottle that I keep in my purse and car, it is small enough, but you can use any size you have. I often have empty bottles lying around that are almost empty and I just recycle them.

Depending on the size of bottle, add about 70% alcohol. Fill the rest of the bottle up with the Aloe Gel. Add the essential oil - I love Lavender as it is great for stress reduction but you can use any EO. Close the top and shake well. Alcohol maybe a bit drying on your skin so remember to use lotion or body butter every night.

Hope this helps. Please be safe out there. I am keeping each of you and the entire planet in my prayers.

Warmest,

Manjari
